The Best of Rayne 2006: Rules

  • The story must pertain to a River/Jayne relationship, thus the reason it’s called the Best of Rayne.

  • The work in question does not have to be posted on Live Journal - but does need to have Public Access. Unfortunately this excludes locked or f-list only journals because all material must be accessible to the public in order to create a fair base for voters.
  • When nominating a work, please include a Link to story/image/vid. We realize that this makes nominations twelve times harder; however, [info]tea_dumplins has a comprehensive list of most to all story links; links may also be found in the memories catalog for [info]rayne_shippers.
  • You may not nominate your own work. You may however blackmail friends into nominating your works.

  • The work must have been posted within the following timeframe:

    • Jan 1st 2007 to Dec 31st 2007. No exceptions! This means: Stories STARTED in 2006, but finished in 2007 are eligible, and if so, the majority of the work needs to have been completed in 2007.

    • The works original post has to be within the 07 year- reposting the story or item within the year 07 does not make the piece eligible.

  • Chapters are not allowed to run in an individual category apart from the complete body of their story

    • - i.e. chapter three of 'Jayne's Folly' can not run in the Best of Drama- 'Jayne's Folly' as a whole may however run in the Best of Drama.

    • Completed Stories from a Series may run apart from their Series. In other words "Pentagons and Octagons" can run for best kiss and be considered apart from its Series "Fluffy Pink Things."

    •

    • Series: Essential a collection of short stories. A series is connected by similar themes and characters but can be read apart from the rest of the stories. For example you can read "Objects in Space" and understand without having read the previous story "Out of Gas."

    • Chapter Story: Essential a novel. You can not read chapter five and understand the events without having first read chapter four.

In order to prevent sweeps:

  • An author/artist may only have three entries per category. In the event that more than three are nominated, the items with the most nominations will be included.
  • A story/image/vid may only compete in two different categories. If nominated for more, the categories with the most nominations will be the selected competing categories.
